The City of Starke (population 5411), the county seat of Bradford County in the northeast region of Florida, and known for its beautiful freshwater lakes, fresh strawberries, small-town hospitality, historical landmarks, and managed wildlife areas seeks an individual with strong interpersonal skills to work in a unique City with 72 full-time employees, an elected Police Chief, and an elected City Clerk (who also serves as the City Treasurer).
Starting salary is between $80,000-$100,000. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with a degree or major course work in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field, with a minimum of 5 years work experience as a top-level municipal or public sector administrator. Within 12 months of appointment, the City Manager must reside in Bradford County.
