Glynn County is approximately 75 miles south of Savannah, Georgia, 65 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida and 280 miles southeast of Atlanta, Georgia on the Atlantic coast and consists of 423 square miles of land. Brunswick is the County’s only municipality and serves as the county seat. Brunswick's 25 square miles contain a deep-water terminal at Mayor’s Point, Colonel’s Island and Marine Point, as well as a reinvigorated downtown area, and a population of over 16,000. Glynn County has an annual budget of $73.5 Million dollars and 850 employees. Glynn County operates under a Commission-Manager form of government. The County Commission approves policy and provides direction to the County Manager who is responsible for the daily operations of the County. The Manager report to and works at the pleasure of the Commission in accordance with the terms of an approved employment agreement

Glynn County seeks a professional County Manager who is a dedicated team player and can quickly gain the confidence of the community. The right candidate for this position is experienced and ethical, a dedicated leader who must possess the ability to build community trust through the development of partnerships with various stakeholders and other government entities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace change and focus on continuous improvement while guiding the community through challenges. He/she will be expected to articulate a vision of excellence, establish credibility and consistency in delivery of services, and be a creative problem solver and excellent communicator in response to unique opportunities in Glynn County.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required in public administration, business administration or related degree from an accredited university. A master’s degree is highly preferred.
• A minimum of seven years of executive level management experience in local governments of similar size and complexity to Glynn County or applicable executive type experience is required.
• Evidence of continued professional development such as ICMA Credentialed Manager designation, is a positive indicator of dedication to the profession and will be noted during the candidate vetting process.

Compensation & Benefits:
Expected starting salary range for this position is $168,000 - $180,000 (depending on qualifications of the selected candidate), with a comprehensive benefits package including health, excellent wellness program, and an on-site employee wellness center; life insurance and long-term disability insurance, defined contribution pension plan, generous paid time off, cell phone allowance and negotiable relocation expenses.
