The Town of Holly Springs, North Carolina, seeks a customer-focused, entrepreneurial Development Services Director to lead the Development Services Department in this high-growth community that wants to maintain its small-town character. Reporting to the Town Manager, the Development Services Director must be an excellent communicator, collaborator, and strategic thinker who will be part of the Senior Leadership Team providing leadership and oversight to carry out the goals of the organization.
The Town of Holly Springs is a full-service municipality that operates under a Council/Manager form of government. The Town employs over 340 employees in 14 departments and has a FY 2020-2021 adopted budget of over $68M. The Development Services Department includes the divisions of Building Safety and Inspections, Customer Service and Compliance, and Land Development. The Development Services department accomplishes its work with 38 dedicated employees and a budget of $7M.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, urban planning, architecture, public administration, business administration, or closely related field from an accredited University and 5-7 years of progressive experience responsibility with managerial experience in urban planning and community development. A master’s degree and AICP certification are preferred. The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive salary with an excellent benefits package that considers the candidate’s salary history and track record of success. Hiring range of $115,000 - $135,000 based on experience and qualifications. Residency is not required but strongly encouraged.
