SUMMARY: The Development Technician will provide customer service to developers, contractors, and the general public, and assist staff with the Commission process. The entry level position is ideal for a candidate looking to get exposure to local government and, more specifically, the functions of the Community Development Department. An ideal candidate would have strong customer service skills, the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and represent the City of Peoria to the general public in a professional manner. S/he will learn and execute the development process, including facilitating the issuing of building permits and zoning certificates, submission of building plans, and the process of project approval through local government.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree from an accredited college or university, a minimum typing speed of 45wpm; and three to four years of related experience required. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, considered.
