Allen is a home rule city with a council-manager form of government. This combines the policy leadership of elected officials with the managerial expertise of an appointed city manager. The Allen City Council is comprised of a Mayor and six Council members. The City of Allen provides superior service in all levels of municipal operations. The City of Allen seeks a collaborative, results-driven, and steadfastly strategic municipal manager to serve as its new Deputy City Manager. The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university. A master’s degree is preferred. Seven or more years of progressively responsible municipal government experience, including five years of experience at a department head level or higher, is required.
