This is professional work in the management and administration of the Development Services Department, which includes the Planning Division and Building Division. Position oversees Comprehensive Plan to site plan and use approvals and the proper functioning of Land and Development Review Boards. Work involves responsibility for the administration and management of the department's activities related to building administration and inspections, the City's Comprehensive Plan, long-range and current planning administration and growth management, including staff supervision, oversight of consultant services, consultant contract administration and departmental budget administration.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Urban Planning or a related field. Five (5) years in land use planning, five (5) years in supervisory role, and three (3) years as a municipal department head. Must possess an American Institute of Certified Planners (A.I.C.P.) Certification.
