The Finance Director manages all aspects of the County's financial operations, including: budgeting, accounting, financial reporting and forecasting, procurement, payroll, investments, revenue sharing, grant and loan admin, and performance mgt. This position has considerable interface with all county depts, the BoCC and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver with a proven commitment to customer service. Critical success factors for the new Finance Director will include strategic planning, succession planning, collaboration and consensus-building skills, innovative problem solving, long and short-term planning, and strong, enthusiastic leadership. A BA or BS degree is required (Master's Degree preferred) with major coursework in business admin, finance, public admin, accounting, or a related field with an emphasis on municipal finance. Progressively responsible supervisory experience in finance or fiscal mgt is required, including at least 6 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and administration of a complex annual budget of at least $20 million.
