Emerging Leaders Development Program - Spring 2018 Cohort

May 01 - June 30, 2018
12:00 pm - 12:00 pm

Registration closed.

Applications for Spring 2018 cohort are now being accepted. Deadline for applications is March 24, 2018.

Looking to build your knowledge, skills, and abilities in the basic management and technical topics that local government managers need to know to be successful? Come and get it!

The Emerging Professionals Leadership Institute (ELDP), a convenient program that minimizes your time away from work and maximizes your local government expertise, prepares you for a successful career in local government by accelerating your management skills and deepening your confidence to lead change in your community.

From day one in this career-changing program, you'll get exclusive access to:

  • A Dedicated Career Coach | Who will serve as a sounding board and help you select a Management Application Project.
  • Monthly Teleseminars | During the course of the program, monthly teleseminars will be based on popular ICMA publications and there will also be three rounds of discussions based on personal finances and a current "hot" topic.
  • Real-World Learning | Access to leaders in local government including senior credentialed managers and public administration professors.

One of the best parts of the program? You will complete a final assessment in the form of a Management Application Project. You work with your dedicated coach to choose a project that meets your interests, allows you to demonstrate what you have learned and accomplished as a result of the program, and benefits your community or organization. Check out this example from ELDP attendee Jennifer Phillips, Director, OC Animal Care, County of Orange.

After completing the Management Application Project, you will receive a certificate of completion.
