Peggy Merriss is retiring after having served her entire local government career in Decatur, GA. She was city manager, 1993-2018; assistant city manager, 1989-93; assistant to city manager and personnel director, 1987-89; personnel director, 1984-87; and employment services officer, 1983-84. ICMA President 2002-03, Merriss was the first female to have served in that role.
