Thanks to ICMA’s Strategic Partners, The Ferguson Group and eCivis, ICMA is again able to offer scholarships to two ICMA members to attend the 2020 Harvard Senior Executive program. Both The Ferguson Group and eCivis have committed to funding a scholarship, each to be awarded by ICMA, to cover the program fee of $16,800. The Ferguson Group has funded one scholarship per year since 2011; e-Civis joined them in 2016 to fund an additional scholarship.

The Harvard Senior Executive program is a unique opportunity to challenge conventional thinking, thought processes, and the values that drive leadership decisions. It’s an opportunity for senior-level city and county managers and assistants to experience personal and professional renewal. Participants step away from the daily routine for three weeks, engage their intellect and hearts with other executives in team efforts to resolve tough issues, and renew the commitment to their life’s work.

To apply for the scholarship, complete the online application. Be sure to upload the Harvard Senior Executive application and your resume when you apply. Scholarship applications must be received at ICMA by January 31, 2020. Scholarship recipients need to cover their own travel expenses.

Participants can choose which session they would like to attend; 2020 program dates are June 1-19 and July 6-24.

A committee of ICMA members who have completed the program will select the scholarship recipients. Announcement of this year’s scholarship recipients will be made in early April.

Scholarship criteria can be found on the ICMA website, along with testimonials from past scholarship recipients.
