SUPPORT FOR PROFESSIONALLY ADMINISTERED COUNTY GOVERNMENT
The National Association of County Administrators (NACA) advocates for the professional administration of county governments and helps shape best practices to benefit the profession, members, and the communities they serve. Along with facilitating a national network of professionals who are dedicated to high-performing county government, NACA provides forums to exchange leading practices and obtain resources addressing county governance and management challenges. Members can also access resources from NACA’s private sector partners for needs such as hiring, purchasing practices, grant writing, and retirement planning.
NACA IDEA EXCHANGE, MEETINGS, AND SEMINARS AT THE:
- NACo Legislative Conference
- NACo Annual Conference
- ICMA Annual Conference
NACA works to maintain and develop substantive content pertaining to county administration at these three major professional development events. The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) work with NACA to develop content and find experts to lead the conversations. The County Administrators’ Idea Exchange, NACA’s hallmark event at all three events, provides an opportunity for county officials from across the country to discuss issues specifically relevant to counties in an informal setting.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Along with the professional development opportunities offered at conferences throughout the year, with the generous support of ICMA-RC, NACA also offers two scholarship to the ICMA Annual Conference for first-time attendees from a county, and five scholarships for county professionals to attend the ICMA Regional Conferences.
