On Earth Day, officials cut the ribbon on the new Solar Training Center, making it the first center in the region to offer safety training to local first responders and Public Power crews who increasingly deal with solar panels and the on-the-job risks they can cause.

The center offers educational opportunities for local students and the community to build curriculum around solar energy generation. Real-time data, such as the amount of solar power generated to power the Community Center, is available on-site or online on the City's website, allowing students to study solar power straight from their classrooms.

The facility was made possible by the Leadership Hudson Class of 2014 and a grant from American Municipal Power to Hudson Public Power. Stop by Barlow Community Center to check it out!
