ICMA Launches Sustainable Communities Podcast Program

ICMA has launched its new podcast program on sustainable communities with an episode featuring Randall Reid, chairman of the ICMA sustainability advisory committee and county manager of Alachua County, Florida. In a 20-minute interview, Reid talks about why sustainability is the “issue of our age,” what a sustainable community looks like, and the role of the manager to create a sustainable community.

Download the free podcast program through iTunes or from the podcast page on ICMA’s Web site. A new episode on sustainable communities will be produced about every three weeks and posted on the ICMA Web site and on iTunes. The best way to make sure you get new podcasts as they are produced is to subscribe to the RSS feed, or subscribe to the ICMA podcast program in iTunes.

These free podcasts will feature interviews with city and county managers, authors, and consultants who will offer their expertise on important local government management issues. In addition to sustainable communities, future podcasts will cover such topics as community building, healthy communities, performance measurement, ethics, and career guidance.
