ICMA recently announced the 2009 Local Government Management Fellows, and it’s already time to start thinking about next year’s class! ICMA hopes you’re interested in hosting a fellow for the 2010 program, and would like to share some important resources that may help you in your decision.
Sign-up now and get your fellow ½ off! What’s this offer all about – sharing a fellow with a neighboring community, of course! Sharing a fellow is a good solution for local governments that want to sustain the profession as well as their bottom line. Previous ICMA fellows have been shared between neighboring communities in Washington, and even between states (Wisconsin and Iowa). We invite you to explore the concept of sharing a fellow through the ICMA Web site.
Not in the mood to share? No problem! You can have an ICMA fellow all to yourself, as many communities opt to do. Hosting a fellow not only contributes to the future of the local government management profession, but it helps manage the workload in your community. If you’d like to learn more, take a look at the benefits of hosting, which includes examples of projects worked on by former fellows.
There’s always work to be done, and ICMA is available to provide qualified management fellows who are up to the challenge. Make the natural connection, and sign up to host a 2010 Local Government Management Fellow in your community today! If you sign up by October 30, 2009, you will ensure that your community’s name is seen in advance by 2010 LGMF applicants, giving you the edge in getting the top talent. If you have questions or would like more information, contact Rob Carty at 202/962-3560 or rcarty@icma.org; or Alex Brown at 202/962-3503 or alexbrown@icma.org.
