Cooperation between local governments and electrical utilities is essential to accelerating broad deployment of renewable energy. It is therefore important that local governments have an understanding of their utility’s perspective on the development of renewable energy within their service areas. The Working with Your Local Electric Utility webinar scheduled for Wednesday, February 8th from 2:00-3:00 Eastern, will provide local government representatives an opportunity to hear directly from a panel of SEPA member electrical utility representatives about the opportunities and limitations pertaining to increased amounts of distributed solar electricity and how they have worked successfully with local governments to implement best practices and policies around solar development and interconnection. The webinar will feature a 30 minute facilitated discussion between cooperative utility representatives followed by thirty minutes of Q&A with webinar participants. We will be soliciting registrants to pre-submit questions for the utilities in order to best facilitate the discussion. This webinar is being hosted by ICLEI in collaboration with ICMA and SEPA as part of the outreach effort to support DOE's SunShot Initiative.
