The Knowledge Network (KN) is an online community of local government professionals worldwide, built around the collection and dissemination of rich content, the discussion and exchange of knowledge and ideas through social networking media, and the advancement of a global perspective on improving local government operations.

The Knowledge Network provides a forum where users can share their expertise, connect with colleagues, and learn about innovations and best practices. And among its many topic areas is one tailored specifically to the interests of international developmentfor professionals in the international development community, government staff, and others interested in discussing and learning about this exciting field.

KN users can go to the “International Development” topic area to: 

  • Access a rich document library
  • Initiate online discussions or blogs
  • Pose questions to others
  • Form groups focused on specific interests
  • Participate in other information- and knowledge-sharing activities relating to international development in general and ICMA's international programs in particular.
