An Alliance member is looking for information from communities that have been successful at bond or other revenue measures to build public safety buildings. And your strategies for a successful measure. I have a lot of general information, but looking for examples specific to building a public safety building.

Voters in the City of Walla Walla passed an $11.6 million bond referendum in support of a 30,000 square-foot police facility in August of 2009. Led by a citizen committee, the campaign included numerous tours of the existing facility; the attached brochure; door-to-door voter contact; active use of the citizens committee web site; and addressing the last minute negative letters to the editor. Interested parties may contact Captain Terry Heisey theisey@ci.walla-walla.wa.us for more information.
