The City of Gainesville, FL is interested in formal policies regarding recognition of elected officials on dedication plaques for publicly owned buildings.
1) Do you have any sample policies from local governments that address recognition of elected officials on dedication plaques for publicly owned buildings such as Police HQ’s, City Hall, Fire Stations, or Maintenance Facilities?
2) Is there consensus among regarding the following practice:
a. Recognize those elected officials in office at the time of building dedication;
b. Recognize those elected officials in office since the building project was budgeted; or
c. Recognize elected officials in office at the time of building dedication and in office since the building project was budgeted?
