Looking for new Human Resource Model (Privatizing?)

Collegues,

I am currently interested in finding "non-traditional" models in providing the typical human resources functions. This could encompass anything from a minor public/private partnership to privatizing divisions within the HR Department (like workforce development or benefits administration), to a total privatization effort. Our HR Department services 2500 employees with 29 HR professionals. Any success stories worth sharing would be appreciated. Thanks

Terry - I encourage you to talk with Tom Guilfoy at the City of Carrollton, TX and Burlingame, CA’s City Manager, Jim Nantell (jnantell@burlingame.org) at who have implemented "non-traditional" HR solutions.

Also, you may want to register to attend the Alliance’s 3/8 webinar which Burlingame is doing - "To Combine Services or to Share: That's the Question". This link will take you to a full description and registration information (Free for members)

Terry, we work with two organizations: HR Green which is helping to run the new town of Jurupa Valley, CA, providing many of their internal and external services on a contractual basis. Similarly, IBTS provides a similar set of services to Central City, LA on a contractual basis.
