Finding Groups

Groups appear throughout the Knowledge Network. In addition to the Groups tab in the menu bar, you'll find them with related topics and in user profiles.

Search

If you already know the name of the group you're looking for, enter it in the search bar at the top right of the site.

Groups Tab

The easiest place to find Knowledge Network Groups is from the Groups tab, always visible in the Knowledge Network menu bar.

Groups tab

When you are signed in, the My Groups tab (above) shows all of the groups you belong to, followed by any groups you are preapproved for. Use the four remaining tabs to browse all other groups that are visible to you, sorted with the Most Active, Newest, or Largest first, or alphabetically in All Groups.

When you view a user's profile, you'll see the groups he or she belongs to. If you're also in that group, you can click the links to view the group page.

Groups in a Profile

You can also access the groups you belong to by viewing your own profile. When you're signed in, click your name at the top right. Or, click Edit Profile and select the Interests & Groups tab to see the groups you belong to.

Joining Groups

Whenever you find a group you're interested in, click to view the group page. Depending on what type of group it is, you may or may not be able to see the group's discussion wall before joining.

There are three ways to join a group, depending on the type of group.

Click to join

For open groups, or other groups that you are pre-approved for, you'll see a button to "Join this group" on the group page.
