Greetings all. Appreciate the wonderful posts! I am a veteran actively transitioning to civilian life, and very much interested in continuing service in local government. Was thrilled to find the International City/County Management Association website, and the various sub-groups. I am inspired and excited at the possibilities, looking forward to learning much, and welcome any guidance on best routes to enter the arena. Though I do not have direct municipal or local government management experience, I stand ready and willing to approach as 'understudy' and practitioner into what would be a new avocation as I move into my next chapter of life. Having gained a dynamic and extensive array of leadership, personnel, and program management expertise, coupled with broad and diverse human relations skills honed over a 28 year career across the Dept of Defense I am confident of what I feel I can contribute. I am a fast learner, and purposefully engaged citizen, eager to further enhancing my 'Public Administrative' abilities and aptitudes, alongside strong dedication, passion and commitment to adding a difference in public and community service. I thank you for any 'pearls of wisdom' that anyone may want to send my way. I currently reside in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
