The City Council of Carlsbad held its annual goal setting workshop to begin to create the city's action plan and budget for the coming year. Their day-long discussion focused on 12 key trends affecting the city in the areas of the economy, changing demographics and technology. Based on the discussion, the Council identified the six most important strategic focus areas for the coming year.
