In order to improve the governance structure of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) partnered with the Greater Washington Board of Trade (BOT) to create a Joint WMATA Governance Review Task Force to recommend ways to improve the way Metro is governed. Through public private partnership, the Task Force brought together a revered group of 18 current and former officials, government mangers and business leaders. In November, 2010 the Task Force released its report, Moving Metro Forward, outlining the changes that need to be made to improve services.
