In preparation for the congressionally-mandated Base Realignment and Closure Act of 2005, the Maryland Transit Administration prepared this June 2009 report in order to examine all potential traffic and transportation-related issues that may arise from the reshuffling of military personnel throughout the state. A focus is given to transit and ridesharing services offered to military installations as well as current plans to deal with these transportation issues by local governments and transit agencies in Maryland.
