Philadelphia's Mayor Michael Nutter has set the goal of making it "the greenest city in America." Greenworks Philadelphia, which builds on the city's 2007 Local Action Plan for Climate Change, sets goals to help the city achieve this vision. Goals are built around five focus areas: energy, environment, equity, economy, and engagement. The plan also sets specific targets, especially for longer-range goals, in order to track achievements and make them measurable.
