If FEMA provided grant funds for the repair or replacement of facilities or items that are insurable, your organization is required to obtain and maintain insurance now and for the remaining life of the asset in the amount of the FEMA Public Assistance funding received for the hazard that caused the damage (e.g., flood, wind, terrorism). This article explains what your municipality needs to do in order to be in compliance.
