Murietta Foreclosure Ordinance

This ordinance establishes a program to register abandoned residential properties in the City of Murrieta. Defines an abandoned residential housing unit as a vacant property and under a current Notice of Default or has been titled a foreclosed property. Attempts to solve problems associated with abandoned houses such as public health concerns, crime, squatters, economic and physical blight, and lowering property values of adjacent homes. Imposes civil penalties if homes are not registered within 10 days after being deemed abandoned by the City of Murrieta.
