Age-Friendly Built Environments: Opportunities for Local Government
With an increasing aging population in Australia, cities and towns in the country have to take into account the needs of elderly citizens. Providing these important members of society access to community resources is imperative for the prosperity and social welfare of their communities. A well thought out urban design plan at the local government level can allow senior citizens to remain active in their communities, both physically active and active participants in their local government. This report discusses the importance of including senior citizens in city design plans.
