The journey began at ICMA in Washington, DC in December of 2008 during the orientation session on Leadership in the Public Sector with Bob O'Neill and Felicia Logan. It does not end tonight but is celebrated by graduation. The members of the Class of 2010 set a goal to be the "best of the best" and have been challenged personally and professionally in ways that none of us could imagine when we met on that cold winter day almost two years ago.
The Class answered the call and indeed have gone above and beyond to leave a legacy and ensure the viability of participation in Leadership ICMA for the future. In response to the inability of a classmate to complete the program, Leadership 2010 started a fundraising effort to be able to provide financial assistance to anyone unable to apply to Leadership ICMA or to continue due to unforeseeable financial issues which has resulted in founding the Leadership ICMA Class of 2010 Legacy Fund. Contributions are made to the Fund for Professional Management and earmarked as Leadership ICMA. Until the funds are drawn down they stay in the fund and also contribute all interest earned to the FUND.
