  • Due to a budget surplus in Casper City, Wyoming, Council members and acting City Manager Linda Witco are adding city jobs to next year’s budget proposal (Casper (WY) Star-Tribune).
  • Georgia’s Beafort County Administrator Gary Kubic announced staggered furlough days for many County employees to make up for reduced revenue (WSAV-TV).
  • San Tan Valley, Arizona, County Manager Fritz Behring helped curtail budget deficit issues by cutting some big paying positions, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars (San Tan Valley (AZ) Today).
  • James Martin, Manager of Cumberland County, North Carolina recommended a 3.29% budget increase without proposing an increase in tax (WNCN-TV).
  • North Carolina’s Mecklenburg County Manager Harry Jones  proposed a budget that halved the increase requested by the school board in order to keep about 400 jobs (Charlotte (NC) Observer).
