The ICMA Southeast Regional Summit is a networking and professional development opportunity for members and state officers in the Southeast. All ICMA members and state officers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia are invited to attend the ICMA Southeast Regional Summit. Network with colleagues, discuss ICMA issues and programs, and provide feedback to the ICMA Executive Board and staff.
The Emerging Professionals Leadership Institute precedes each regional summit. Managers are encouraged to invite early career professionals and emerging leaders to attend this leadership institute.

The Art and Science of Persuasion
The art and science of persuasion needs to be in every managers tool kit. Provocatively, Daniel Pink in his new work, To Sell is Human, explains that everyone must master the Art of Sales.
This interactive skill-building session will focus on how the top six (6) traits of effective sales people can improve your ability to work with elected officials, citizens and staff. According to Dan Pink’s latest research, we spend 40 hours of our work time persuading, negotiating and pitching. During the session we will explore the concepts of attunement (and learn why extroverted behavior is not always the best approach to influencing others), buoyancy, clarity, pitch, improvise and service. We will also view the latest conversation between Bob O’Neill and Dan Pink in the Leading Ideas Series: To Sell is Human.
