Web Developer

The Web Developer is responsible for development and maintenance of several key applications within ICMA's web site.  The Web Developer should be comfortable developing and maintaining systems using in VB.NET, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS, and Microsoft SQL Server. You will need to:

  • Develop and maintain applications and customizations for ICMA’s CMS and Knowledge Network in conjunction with internal and external developers.
  • Maintain and implement enhancements to legacy ColdFusion applications.
  • Develop and maintain SQL code (design and create databases, stored procedures, etc.) to support web application development, data queries for reporting, and systems integrations.
  • Maintain ICMA’s SVN code repository and documentation.

International Proposal Recruiter

ICMA is seeking a International Proposal Recruiter to manage the recruitment of personnel including expatriate management, short-term technical assistance consultants, and host country national professionals for inclusion in new business development proposals. You will establish and manage an accessible database and/or other system for maintaining information about candidates and consultants. You will maintain weekly recruiting reporting updates, and ensuring the hiring process follows USAID guidelines with verifying salary and professional reference checks. You maintain current opportunities section of ICMA DevHire Website and support ad placement and ad tracking activities. (shared responsibility with International Recruiter)

Program Manager

ICMA seeks a Program Manager based in DC to provide program management and administrative oversight for Afghanistan field programs and to support business and proposal development activities. ICMA is the premier local government leadership and management organization. Its mission is to create excellence in local governance worldwide by providing technical and management assistance, training, and information resources. Responsibilities include: Managing an Afghanistan portfolio development contract. You will responsible for assisting in program start-up and close-out. You will also be recruiting consultants for programs and proposals as well as developing and monitoring consultant and subcontractor contracts. You will be preparing, managing, and monitoring program budgets while ensuring program compliance with USAID contractual regulations. You will also support a range of proposal development activities. You will be responsible for conducting country or thematic research for programs or proposals. You will also contribute to program-related articles and reports. You will need to be able to participate in overseas trips related to program management in conflict environments in Afghanistan.

 Front Desk Receptionist/ Member & Customer Support

Do you have outstanding customer service skills?  Are you able to handle multiple priorities?  We are looking for someone to provide member and customer service support. Among things you will be responsible for include data entry, responding to email and phone inquiries, and processing applications of new members.  You will be the primary greeter to visitors, guests and new employees as well as responsible for front desk processes and accuracy.  

Knowledge Network Internship

ICMA seeks an intern to support the Knowledge Network, the professional networking and knowledge sharing hub for local government. The intern's primary responsibilities include researching a range of local government issues, writing blog posts, and identifying leading resources. Preference for student enrolled in MPA, MPP, or related graduate program with a specific interest in local government. Clear, concise, and professional writing skills a must.
