Ad Rates

Our new ad rate structure is pricing by function, or seniority in the organization. Also new is an ICMA member discount! If any staff in your local government is an ICMA member (even a student!), the system will apply the member pricing (a 25% discount; applied to the entire order at checkout, including a la carte items detailed below).

Options

Job Center

• SEE TABLE, PRICE BY JOB FUNCTION. By default, your ad will appear in the Job Center, which is mirrored on both the ICMA and AFI web sites. So your job advertisement will automatically hit the audiences of both organizations. Features include: searchable by location, salary, population; map highlight, Knowledge Network topic tagging, pay by credit card or purchase order. 
• Ads are now live for 60 days, and can be removed by the advertiser if your recruitment closes or is satisfied.
• CAO/Deputy CAO ads: Because recruiting a CAO or deputy can take time, you can renew your ad at no charge, for another 60 days, as much as you need.

Newsletters

• $50, PER NEWSLETTER. Price is per newsletter (not per issue). Your ad will appear in every issue of the newsletter you select for the ads' live duration. 
• ICMA has two newsletters that accept job ads, distributed by email. The ICMA Newsletter is sent biweekly to members only. The Job Opportunities Bulletin (JOB), also biweekly, is published on alternate weeks (when the ICMA Newsletter is not published), and distributed to subscribers, including nonmembers. 
• CAO/Deputy CAO ads: Your CAO/Deputy CAO ad is automatically included in the ICMA Newsetter at no additional charge!
• Example: a 60 day ad selected for both the ICMA Newsletter and JOB would appear in a total of six issues (three issues of the ICMA Newsletter, three issues of the JOB). All that for only $100! And take 25% off that for a member discount! Considering subscription rates for both newsletters, that's a job ad that's being delivered almost 70,000 times over the six week period.

Knowledge Network Tagging

• INCLUDED. By default, ads are automatically tagged with two topic areas based on job function to assist with your placement, and each job can be tagged with up to five topic areas, related to the job function or department. Tags allow your job ad to flow seamlessly throughout the ICMA and AFI sites, dramatically increasing exposure. This feature is explained in more detail in the Employer FAQ.

Feature on ICMA's Career Network Home

• $100. Increase exposure by having your job ad appear in the rotating feed on the far right column on ICMA's Career Network. The Career Network home page (icma.org/careers) gets 12,000 unique visitors (and more than 150,000 page views) each month, so that's prime real estate!

State Affiliates

• $50. Selecting this option will display your job on any state affiliate site that is also tied to ICMA's web content system. State options will appear at checkout. If you are placing an ad for a manager in California, including it in the Cal-ICMA site increases your exposure.
