Instructions for Paying by Purchase Order

If you would like to pay for your Job Center ad by purchase order/invoice, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Login to the Job Center by visiting jobs.icma.org/emplogin.cfm
  2. If you have an account with us, login (or if you have forgotten your login info, you can have it sent to the email address you registered with us using the field on that page). If you do not have an account, you can create one quickly.
  3. Once you are in, go to Ad Manager at the top of the page, then select, "Post a New Ad."
  4. When you are done entering text, you have two options to continue - "print and web" or "web only."
    1. For "web only" ads, the information you can enter is unlimited (but please be concise and respect the reader's time). 
    2. For "print and web" you will need to make sure your ad is 500 words or fewer. Check off the issue(s) of the JOB and/or ICMA Newsletter that you want your ad to appear in, then select "done" at the bottom of the page. But you're not done!
    3. Review your ad, then click the "continue" button on the next page...
  5. The last action is to send an e-mail to advertising@icma.org to let us know your ad is in the system and ready to be activated. Please be sure to provide the following:
    1. Type "[Community name] Job Ad: Ready" in the subject line (e.g. "Springfield Job Ad: Ready")
    2. Contact name/email address for where we should send the invoice
    3. Date(s) of any issues of the either the ICMA or JOB newsletters (so we can confirm your ad has been tagged correctly)
    4. Any other specific instructions (please make the ad live on or after a certain date, etc.)
  6. We will confirm with a response to your email when your ad is live online. Invoices are typically emailed in a batch at the end of the week or beginning of the next. If you place our job ad on a Monday or a Tuesday, you should receive the invoice by Friday or the following Monday.
