The City of Loveland is seeking a highly innovative, strategic and forward thinking individual to serve as Director of the Loveland Public Library. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, exhibit a clear vision and commitment to librarianship, articulate and advocate the Library’s mission to the public, provide sound fiscal management and promote collaborative relationships within the library and throughout the community.

THE DEPARTMENT
Located on the edge of a revitalizing downtown, the Loveland Public Library exists as a community space and welcoming environment for patrons of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. With a budget of $3.7 million and a beautiful space of 60,000 sq. ft., staffing includes 41 full and part time benefitted employees (32.5 FTE.) Library staff are especially proud of their innovative programming including makerspaces, cultural events, local author showcases, computer classes, youth advisory commission, STEM programs, Kids Café, and nature lectures.

The library’s success stems from strong community partnerships with local boards and businesses, tech companies, non-profits, and schools. A number of the library’s progressive initiatives have been supported through the long and rewarding partnership with the Friends of the Library Foundation and its 500 plus members who provide support and advocacy for the library. Future opportunities and challenges include expanding these community partnerships, initiating a new strategic plan, advocating for library capital expansion, furthering Latino community outreach, investigating enhanced funding opportunities, and acting as a support coach and mentor to the library team.

The mission of the Loveland Public Library is to inform, to enrich, and to inspire; thereby engaging and strengthening the community. The future Director will support this mission through a deep understanding of issues relevant to librarianship and a demonstrated commitment to public service.

The salary range for this position is $85,800 - $137,200 per year with an expected hiring range of $85,800 - $111,500 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
