ICMA Executive Board Agenda

The ICMA Executive Board has set the following agenda for its February 23-26, 2012 meeting in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina:

  • Select ICMA’s 2012-2013 President-elect.
  • Adopt registration fees and budget for 2012 Annual Conference.
  • Select cities for 2020 conference site visits.
  • Conduct annual review of ICMA’s financial management policies and second quarter review of financials.
  • Review progress on membership recruitment and retention.
  • Prepare for discussions at the 2012 Regional Summits on the implementation of regional nominating committees that will select nominees for ICMA Vice Presidents in 2013.

A draft agreement for each region will be part of the conversation. The agreements are based on guidelines that were approved by the board in September and that were reviewed by state and affiliate leaders starting with the 2011 Regional Summits. The agreement also draws on the regional agreements that have been used in recent years for regional screening panels in the Northeast, Midwest, and Southeast.  The draft agreements have been developed to ensure a standard process across all regions, but state leadership continues to be responsible for agreeing on geographical rotation and on when to review that rotation.
  • Adopt the regional nominations process for the International region.  At the annual conference, the International Committee approved a proposal developed by a group of current and former board members.  The board needs to approve an international process by June 2012 so that everything will be in place to select the nominee for the 2013 ballot.

The board meeting will take place at the Charleston Harbor hotel.  Members are welcome to attend.  For information on the schedule, please contact Betsy Sherman at ICMA, (202) 962-3612 or bsherman@icma.org
