ICMA Center for Sustainable Communities
ICMA’s Center for Sustainable Communities exists to help local governments meet their citizens' needs today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. compliments ICMA’s long history of work on smart growth, brownfields redevelopment, community engagement, energy, disaster recovery, and more. We partner with government agencies, foundations, and organizations to help local governments in all the areas that encompass sustainability.
ICMA Annual Conference
The ICMA Annual Conference is the single largest gathering of local government managers in the world. The Annual Conference is an opportunity for Strategic Partners to gain visibility among the more than 3,000 local government professionals who attend the three-day event. Strategic Partners receive complimentary registrations to the conference, invitations to the Leadership Reception and Dinner, priority placement and discounts on exhibit hall booths, pre- and post-conference attendee lists, and special acknowledgment throughout the conference. Strategic Partners also have the opportunity to submit suggestions for conference sessions and speakers, and participate in the Conference Planning Committee meeting and solutions track committee.
National Brownfields Conference
Hosted by ICMA and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Brownfields Conference is the largest, most comprehensive conference in the nation focused on cleaning up and redeveloping abandoned, underutilized, and potentially contaminated properties. Strategic Partners can assist ICMA in the planning, marketing, and implementation of the conference.
Survey Research
ICMA has collected more data on local governments than anyone else beside the federal government. ICMA identifies concerns of immediate importance to local governments and conducts surveys that provide useful information for local government decision makers. Partners can sponsor new surveys and receive discounts on ICMA survey data.
ICMA University
ICMA provides high-quality training to local government professionals in the form of Web workshops and conferences, podcasts, and other career development programs. Partners can sponsor individual training programs or participate as a topic expert.
Publications
Partners can help create publications that provide timely and relevant information, data, and research for local government professionals. Opportunities vary from the creation of an executive brief to books. Partners can also submit articles to PM Magazine and ICMA’s electronic newsletters.
Technical Assistance and Consulting Projects
Partners can work with ICMA on projects that provide technical and management assistance, training, and knowledge to local jurisdictions. ICMA has years of grant and project management experience allowing partners a unique opportunity to provide direct assistance to local communities.
