ICMA's Code of Ethics is 85 years old this month! Join us in celebrating this important milestone in our profession through a number of conference activities.
This month we recognize the 85th anniversary of the ICMA Code of Ethics, which was adopted during the September 1924 ICMA Annual Conference in Montréal! To commemorate, we're launching a year-long celebration at the Montréal conference that will tell the story of the importance of the Code to our profession, inspire members to continue their commitment to the highest ethical standards, and promote ethical conduct.
Following Dave Limardi’s conference opening session remarks, join us at the Sunday night Welcoming Reception, where we will commemorate the 85th anniversary of the ICMA Code with a sweet treat, a celebratory cake! Also be sure to visit the Ask ICMA area of the Pavilion to view a free-standing exhibit of the history of the ICMA Code of the Ethics.
On Tuesday, September 15, members will be asked to reaffirm their commitment to the ICMA Code of ethics by adopting a resolution during the Annual Business Meeting, 9:45-10:45 a.m., in Meeting Room 710A, Level 7, of the Montréal convention center.
