The Village of Glenview, IL has finished a Draft Bike and Sidewalk Master Plan that will be presented to the Plan Commission later this month. The goal of the Plan is to enhance Glenview's biking and walking environment, and it includes recommendations regarding everything from traffic control devices and roadway improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
The Village of Glenview, IL has finished a Draft Bike and Sidewalk Master Plan that will be presented to the Plan Commission later this month. The goal of the Plan is to enhance Glenview's biking and walking environment, and it includes recommendations regarding everything from traffic control devices and roadway improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
Proposed enhancements to bicycling include:
- on-street bike routes
- bike lanes
- off-street shared-use paths
Recommended pedestrian enhancements include:
- the installation of nearly 15 miles of sidewalk
- improved traffic control devices and crosswalks push button signals
- pedestrian countdown clocks
