Williamsburg, VA City Manager Elected President of Local Government Management Association


Williamsburg City Manager Jackson C. Tuttle II has been elected to a one-year term as president of the Virginia Local Government Management Association (VLGMA).  VLGMA provides training and member support for professional managers and their staffs in cities, counties, and towns across the state.  It has more than 370 members.

“We are committed to building great Virginia communities through ethical leadership, innovation, citizen engagement, and preparing the next generation of local government professionals,” Tuttle said following his election June 17 at the association’s annual conference in Virginia Beach.

Tuttle served previously in the Navy and as a city manager in Florida before becoming Williamsburg’s city manager in 1991.  He is a 30 plus year member of the International City/County Management Association, an ICMA credentialed manager, and a board member of the Alliance for Innovation, which promotes the transformation of local government across the nation.  He also regularly teaches a graduate course in the Certificate in Local Government Management program offered through a partnership between Virginia Tech and VLGMA.

The Virginia Local Government Association is a state affiliate of the International City/County Management Association based in Washington, D.C.
