The first in a series of "Telephone Town Hall" meetings is set to begin Tuesday, February 8th offering the citizens of Brevard County's largest municipality an opportunity to directly communicate with their elected leaders without ever leaving their homes. The first Telephone Town Hall will begin at 6 p.m. on February 8th and will be hosted by Mayor John Mazziotti. During this time citizens will have an opportunity to participate in an open forum where they can ask questions of the mayor about general topics and issues of interest. "Open communication is the key to all great relationships," said Mayor John Mazziotti. "This offers our citizens an easy way to access their government and helps us, as elected leaders, learn more about their wants and needs."
The City will be hosting 5 Telephone Town Hall Meetings during the coming months. On the selected dates residents with publicly listed phone numbers will be called and provided instructions on how to participate. For residents not receiving a phone call, they can contact 1-888-886-6603 and prompt 16037# anytime during the hour long forum. "We believe this is a much more efficient and cost-effective way to communicate with the public," Mazziotti added. "It's so easy, you don't even have to leave your home. We want to encourage all our residents to participate."
The first two dates for the Telephone Town Hall Meetings are as follows:
- February 8th; hosted by Mayor John Mazziotti
- March 22nd; hosted by Deputy Mayor William Capote
- May 3rd
- June 14th
- July 26th; hosted by Councilwoman Kristine Isnardi
All Telephone Town Hall Meetings will be hosted from 6-7 p.m. on the designated dates.
