The recognition is a result of the City’s setting the bar for financial transparency online by opening books to the public, providing citizens with a clear and consistent picture of spending, and sharing information in a user-friendly format.
The Comptroller of Public Accounts launched the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program in December 2009 to recognize local governments across Texas that are striving to meet a high standard for financial transparency online. There are three divisions within the Leadership Circle: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
