ICMA will partner with the Craigslist Foundation for its one-day Boot Camp conference. Boot Camp is a unique event of keynote speakers, workshops, exhibits, and resources focused on community building and helping people learn how to make a positive impact in their communities and neighborhoods. Attendees have the opportunity to discover resources for community building, network with like-minded people, and participate in educational sessions led by local and national leaders, grassroots activists, and neighborhood volunteers.

Boot Camp will also feature speakers Robert O’Neill, executive director of ICMA; Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist.org; Marsha Semmel, acting director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services; Susan Benton, CEO and president of the Urban Libraries Council; and San Francisco Treasurer Jose Cisneros.

ICMA seeks to build sustainable communities to improve lives through local government managers who serve as stewards of representative democracy. ICMA partners with organizations, government agencies, corporations, and foundations, who share this commitment, such as the Craigslist Foundation Boot Camp.

This one-day event will be held August 14, 2010 at the University of California Berkeley campus. For more information, visit www.craigslistfoundation.org/boot-camp.
